TechIMO & RR ?

Anyway you cut it I just deleted my shortcut to there as I'm tired of trying to get in. And if things can't be worked out in a week then I give up for now. It's funny how I receive email notifications of PM's but can't even get to the site. My next step is adding it to my blocked list on my email as there is no reason to receive mail from there if I can't even get on. And the super slow loading RR is next on the list of deleted shortcuts.

The problem for me feeling like it was a ban was that if I changed my IP address, I could log on immediately. That I had to do such a few times felt like was a ban.

Now why on earth would changing your IP allow you to access the site?? Unless your WAN IP dictates what paths you get routed through. Weird.

Sorry to hear you are still having troubles, MDS. No further help from your ISP?? Would they be willing to try another IP for you, you think??

Another option is using a proxy server, although that might be somewhat slower than a usual connection.

I just posted this at TIMO:

Internet routing problem to techimo.com??

There have been a few members posting at other sites they cannot access techimo.com at all, and haven't been able to for almost a week now. And a few threads started here and there on this site by members able to gain access only by proxy server.

Does this only affect techimo.com, and no other site?? Or are there other sites ppl can't seem to get through to normally?

The lack of attention that seems to have been placed on this problem by the site admins (read: lack of information posted about what they are doing) is causing some long time members who have been affected to feel abandonded.

Can an official response by this site about this problem at least be posted, please? So we can post back on other sites that something is being done??

I'm afraid that Scott probably dosent have a lot of control over what is happening. All he can do is scream and maybe take his business elsewhere....

My system runs pretty good, so I mainly argue politics anyway. We've come along way since the Win 3.1 days when my wife told me I needed to learn to "cut and paste" and I had no idea what she was talking about!

So I guess I'll keep working on my post count..!

Seems I missed the party here, sorry about that.

We moved from Pair to the Planet several weeks ago. A few days ago, probably around 9/14-9/16, ResellerRatings was undergoing some server maintainance. But there should be no problems accessing any of our sites now.

If you're still having trouble, please PM me here (or use this form if you're able to get into techimo through a proxy etc, http://www.techimo.com/timo_contact.pl) with the IP address that you're using as well as, if possible, results from pings and traceroutes from your PC. If this is a problem with our servers, our host, our firewall, etc, this info will help us figure that out. Thanks!

I haven't had any problems at all getting to it. I have just had a problem with the images loading. I have had the image problem since the 13th or 14th. I posted something about it way back then...still nothing...very odd, IMO.

edit: belay that last one. I can get into TIMO perfectly, and I just tried pinging worldnet.att.net and it timed out. Probably have ICMP turned off on that server.

I cannot ping Timo, out of 3 traceroutes from various places 2 failed at theplanet Dallas- the other got through.
At work all I got was "page cannot be displayed" while at home I can't get a full page to load

I could use some help troubleshooting this problem. Our host so far has not been of any use.

Those of you that are having problems, could you answer these questions:

1) Can you bring up techimo.com in your browser? If so, do images load?

2) Can you bring up resellerratings.com in your browser? If so, do images load?

3) Can you bring up photopost.com in your browser? If so, do images load?

4) If you can't reach one or more of the sites above, and/or images don't load for you, please try to ping the following servers from your local PC and report the results (Start -> Run -> command [enter] -> ping techimo.com [enter]):

photopost.com
techimo.com
resellerratings.com
images.resellerratings.com
images.techimo.com

Finally, please provide your IP address and if possible, a traceroute from your PC to techimo.com. Traceroutes may fail at one of theplanet.com routers, which is normal, but the traceroute up until that point would be helpful.
