Sata to IDE Hdd file copying

my dead game box has a 500 gig Sata hdd, my current box is IDE only. I plan on using said 500 gig hdd in the new build. but I need the stalker C.O.P. mods off of the drive. how would I go about doing this?
Nope I can't just re-download them, besides taking very long PITA time to convert the lang. files and stuff from russian to eng. I don't remember the names of the four mods and the links are in the browser on that hdd.

Jim, does your PC have a USB 2.0 port?

even if its USB 1.0, I have a Thermaltake USB connected (AC Wall powered) SATA drive converter.

I forget who I bought it from, but I haven't used it in years, and is just collecting dust here.

It takes both 3.5" and 2.5" SATA Drives, plugged into them like an Old Game console, then connects via USB to the PC, and runs off AC wall power.

Since my newer PC case has a SATA Dock built into it, and connects directly to an Internal SATA Port, its not only faster, but more convenient for me to use, than this thing.

And I doubt I'll be using it anytime in the future.

There is also SATA external hard drive enclosures you can use, that will connect to the usb 2.0 ports anyway.
