Ok, as some of you know from techimo, my website has been up and running for a few months now. I am using bizhosting.com's free host service. AND CuteSite Builder for my webpage. I got frontpage 2002 the other day, and rebuilt my site with some cool features, like a feedback form, and a search form, but when I went to upload it, guess what???!!! BizHosting doesn't support frontpage extensions and a few other things that my website has. So my dilema is this:

Are there any free hosts that support those things, without a crap load of banners launching everytime someone visits my site?

OR:
I have a recently built (or pieced together i should say) PII400 with 256MB ram, 8GB HDD, and Win2K Pro. Should I install my 2K Server and try to run my own webserver without AT&T finding out and shutting me down? I keep hearing of people doing this, with no problems.

I'm at my wits end, and would like some help.......

TIA

edit** Well, here's another problem that just came up.... brandon184 from techimo just offered to host me for free. I went to check on my DNS info to make sure I could still change it, and the place I registered my Domain at is either out of buisiness or updating thier site...... Can someone point me to the registrar to change my dns servers? Is that even possible at this point? Do I not know what I'm talking about here? (don't answer that one)

Hi MrEd

I sent a msg to Mntsnow for you; I'd rather see him answer this rather than me giving you misinformation as I'm not positive on that last part -

hang in there ! :)

Well I will say that you can do it on AT&T as long as you dont have a bunch of traffic. but if you do I would suggest using a true hosting provider. As for Free sites without banners or popups I really dont know of any. but I can personally recommend www.1dollarwebhosting.com (they host my wife's site www.mntsnow.net ) and they support frontpage exts. as for who your registrar was/is it looks like you registered it thru bizhosting and who they backended thru I'm not sure of but I will try and find out.

More info hopefully soon

I registered thru yournextdomain.com. And changed the dns hosts to the bizhosting site thru an admin page they had. Now I can't get to that admin page again to change anything. Sorry I forgot to mention that. I'll check on 1dollarwebhosting, and check your wifes site to see if that's what i want. But like I said, brandon184 offered too.

Well if Brandon184 is setup as a full service hosting company he will be able to get the DNS changes put into place and then the Domain registrar will only contact you to verify the permission to modify the record.

but here is your info

Domain Name: TALONCOMPUTERS.COM

Registrar: INNERWISE, INC. D/B/A ITSYOURDOMAIN.COM

Whois Server: whois.itsyourdomain.com

Referral URL: http://www.itsyourdomain.com

Name Server: NS3.FREESERVERS.COM
Name Server: NS4.FREESERVERS.COM
Updated Date: 19-feb-2002

so https://secure.onlineaccess.net/cart/manage.php?IYD=1 is the url you should be using to make your DNS changes manually :) not the one you listed :)
