Environment:
Novell 5.1, servers
Netware Client 4.83 patched
Windows XP Pro
Here is what I'm trying to do.
I want to be able to upgrade/install software through a login script. Examples:
1. An Anti-virus program.
2. Possible upgrade to a newer client.
3. Programs such as SAP, etc.
4. NDPS printing.
The present user profile that's being used doesn't allow the user to install programs from either the floppy, CD-rom, downloaded files, etc. per company policy. Right now this account type, as it's setup, won't allow any programs to be installed on the PC through that login script. When the account is setup as a power user or administrator, the installation is allowed. But so is access to install programs from the floppy, CD-rom, etc.
How do you create or modify an account type to allow software to be pushed out through a login in script yet keep the user from being able to install apps on these business PC's when they are not suppose to? We are looking at rolling out some 200 of these and some are at different locations.
Thanks for any help.
