I'm trying to upgrade my cisco 678 running CBOS 2.4.3 to 2.4.6 or 2.4.7. I tried using xmodem and the management cable, but get xmodem transfer errors in the first or second block.
Then the modem emits an audible chime.
I then tried using tftp (client and server) and when I try to transfer over the image, I get a message saying "Legacy image skipped". Does anyone have an idea as to what might be going wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to XPC!
What settings are you using when using Hyperterm to connect to the router?

Welcome to XPC
http://www.xtremepccentral.com/articles/dsl/ciscocbos.html here is what you need to do up update your firmware. There are detailed instructions on what to do whether you have a working or non-working CBOS. If you have any problems, we are here to help.
Use these settings..
38400 bits per second
No parity
8-data bits
1-stop bit
No flow control

There are times that 38400 doesnt work the best and if it doesnt for you try 9600 it is much slower in tranfering the data but I personally have found a few routers that it works best on. :)

Thanks guys. I was using the settings mholtum recommended, but with no luck. I then tried the transfer at 9600 bps, but that didn't work either. Is there a way to use the "dead modem" instructions if your modem is not dead? Any way to force it to erase the existing cbos and come up in the "dead" or rescue mode?
Thanks again
