I have been tring to upload images to my webspace 50mb provided and can not. So far after hours of phone calls to the ISP they say it has to be on my end as they can transfer the files on and remove just fine. So here's what I tried so far:

1 Turn zone alarm off
2 hook puter strait to modem
3 hook different puter strait to modem with no ZA ever installed on it.
4 ran broadband reports tweak test and came back everything in great shape
5 tried ftp in passive mode and without
6 cussed it out-didn't help either
7 tried WS_ftp LE(usually use), bulletproof, and IE(which is always to slow anyways for my choosing)

Systems set-up

Linksys BEFCMU10 modem
Linksys BEFSR41 router
XP2100+ box running win2kpro(had XP pro but I thought that was causing the issue so I went back to win2kPro)
3 other systems on the network.

I'm starting to wonder if it is a modem issue. At on time I could remember how to see modem settings by typing IP addy like you do with a router but I don't remember now.

what modem are you using? I have been ftp'n with cable for awhile without a hitch for quite some time.. I would try to uninstall /reinstall the software.

mholtum, Linksys BEFCMU10 modem and I was ftp'n along for quite some time till about a month ago. I have a fresh install of win2kpro less then a day old with FTP software freshly installed. I'm trying to remember how to get into the modem wizard by IP I know how to get into the router set up but forgot the modem.

edit: I figure out the modem wizard and everything looks ok there

http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/support/zapInstallFAQ.jsp is the correct way to Uninstall ZA..... I bet ZA has messed up as I have seen it cause this type of problem before (actually happened to one of my systems before) I now use my hardware cisco firewalls and proxy servers and Sygate on my systems instead of ZA

well I went step by step with the removal listed there and I still can not upload, so what would be the next best guess. I can upload only certain files like html's, some jpg's(but not all), and some text files but I have yet to get a single gif from my end :(

One thing I just remembered is I updated to sp3 a while back I wonder if that has anything to due with my problems.

well just for kicks I went to add/remove and removed sp3 and had it restore back to sp2 - reboot and still the same. I just can't figure out why I can upload a few jpg's and no gif's and not even some jpg's. Something has got to give.

Fresh reinstall win2kpro now with sp4 and all updates and still the same thing. I am thinking either my modem or connection is to blame.

Test :)

Ok I found the issue somehow :) I tried hooking a spare puter strait up to the cable modem and I could up load, so I hooked my main box up strait to the modem nothin. So I took at look at my main box mac addy, router mac addy, and spare box addy. I had cloned the addy from my main box before I did my last mobo upgrade. So I went ahead and cloned the mac of the spare box hoping maybe they spoofed my mac. Still nothing changed. I went into the linksys router setup page and was playing with advanced setting and decided to do a release/renew and it didn't help. Next was the gateway/router option it was set on gateway so I changed it, now I had no internet access at all so I changed it back and refreshed routing table and low and behold I can now upload. The thing that gets me is I had reset the router many times while trying to get this to work so it should had refresh everytime it is reset. Who knows? At least it is up now and I don't have to deal with freeserver no hotlink to webspace as they changed most of my images out on me.
