I have a recent build that I have done for my youngest brother and tried overclocking an XP2500+ to XP3200+ speeds and failed miserably. Here are the specs:
Biostar M7NCD nForce 2 motherboard
AMD XP2500+
CoolerMaster Jet7 cooler and Arctic Silver 5
1GB Kingston HyperX PC3500 DDR
Abit Siluro FX5600 256MB DDR
80GB Maxtor HDD
Lite-On black 16X DVD drive
Lite-On black 52x32x52x CDRW drive
400 watt Allied power supply
Raidmax black 278WBP case
The mobo has no voltage settings in the BIOS so it may have just needed a little more juice. The Jet7 cooler rests right up against the power supply and may need to be shaved down a quarter of an inch to fit properly. However CPU temps were 55C after initial install but settled to 44C after 1 day(AS5 settling in?). The Jet7 is so big it's scary but looks more amazing than any cooler I have seen. Has a flashing white LED at the front intake(might be annoying to some) and a constant red LED at the rear. Looks great through the case window.
I have used this same mobo before and OCed an XP2500+ to XP3200+ speeds just fine with no voltage adjustments using a Vanec AeroFlow TMD cooler. It's $20.00 cheaper and for me was more successful. Of course this could have been this particular CPU being just not able to OC or needing just a little more voltage.
IMO the Jet7 would be great for anyone looking for a little flair in their PC build but a Vantec AeroFlow might be better suited for OCing. If anyone plans on using the Jet7 make sure you have ample room. It's a tight fit in a MidATX case and won't fit in a MicroATX or SFF case.
I hope this helps anyone who has seen the Jet7 cooler and has been debating wether to use it or not. Your experience may be better using a different mobo, CPU, etc. It looks even better than the pictures and really must be seen to be appreciated for it's size and style.
