All you have to do from the other computers is hit your website's Netjuke address: Such as

http://www.yourname.com/netjuke/index.php This is assuming you installed it in the root of your webserver's website.

well back to the drawing board.

i am using iis and the root would be c:inetpub/wwwroot.

netjuke is in there in a folder.

so if this is correct i should be able to access it from anywhere but i can't.

Ok....I I assume you can hit the standard website at

http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Correct? where XX is your server's ipaddress. Also do you have a firewall running on the server? if so you have to allow IIS to accept inbound and outbound connections You should also be able to hit your website at http://servername

If you can hit the root website at http://xxx then you should be able to hit netjuke at http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xx/netjuke/index.php

How do you visit netjuke currently? What URL you using?

http://localhost/netjuke/login.php

Sounds like either you dont port 80 forwarded on your router/firewall to the IP address of your webserver.....OR your ISP doesnt allow servers on personal accounts and have blocked port 80.

Who is your ISP?

robin801

earthlink

I am not sure about earthlink but I think they block port 80 on their network. You could try putting your webserver & Router on say port 88 instead of port 80 and then try having your friends access it by typing

http://ipaddress:88/netjuke/login.php

notice the :88 That tells your browser to use port 88 instead of the default port for webservers which is port 80

i haven't had time to make any changes yet.

i was wondering about my security before i let my friends access my mp3.

when i go to the logon page do my friends use the same logon information that i use?

if yes will they be able to make changes to my mp3?

No do not give them your login!!!!

From the Admin panel you can setup an account strictly for them and give them only User permissions that way they can only listen to your music but can't edit or change things but they will be able to create their own playlists and such :)

Admin then User Maintance and then New User :)

mntsnow--can i run my mp3 jukebox and my website using iis in win2k pro?

Mntsnow
12-30-2003, 3:54 PM
Yes you could...but under Pro you can only have a very limited number of users accessing it at the same time where as with one of the server versions you can have unlimited (Only limited by your hardware and bandwidth ;))

Can I ask why? You could put all of them on the D: or just the ones you want to..

Mntsnow

If you want your "data" directory for the mp3's to be on the D drive you will want to install atleast the full netjuke setup on the D drive but the Mysql and Php can be installed where ever you choose.
