I am having problems dual booting Win XP & Win 98SE. When I install them on my machine in the correct order (98 then XP), there is no problems but when I had to restore my Ghost image of my Win 98 SE setup, I lost my Win XP. I managed to get it back via the recovery console but have now lost access to Win 98 SE which I use for video capturing since there is currently no XP support for video capturing via my Asus V7100 Deluxe Combo VC. Can anyone help me get it back so I can access both 98 and XP again (without a complete XP reinstallation).?????

Hi ...;)
Okay .. you problem is that winXP over written the boot.ini, so it deleted the old info and wrote winXP only new info ..
What to do is edit your boot.ini file and add win98 to it manually ..
To view the boot file you need to unhide it first ... to unhide the boot.ini, open My Computer>Tools>Folder Options>View, then Uncheck Hide protected operating system files (recommended)
Read here for more info about editing the boot.ini from M$:

In case you have Ghost2002, check this out:
Use GDisk32.exe for:
*Unhiding a partition that the Windows NT or Windows 2000 Disk Manager cannot see.
*Activating a diagnostic or recovery partition.
*Adding or removing an operating system from the Windows NT or Windows 2000 Boot Menu. GDisk32.exe includes a new switch, -BOOTINI, for adding or removing entries from the Windows NT or Windows 2000 file Boot.ini. That is, when you use the -BOOTINI switch to add or remove entries from the Windows Boot.ini file, you change which operating systems are available on the Windows Boot Menu. For instance, if you installed Windows 98 to the computer and then Windows 2000, the Windows 2000 boot menu might not display Windows 98. Use -BOOTINI to add the Windows 98 partition to the file Boot.ini.
The above was quoted from here ..

There is absolutely no need for reinstalling your winXP to access win98 ... editing the boot.ini should solve the problem:cool: ...
BTW, Welcome to Xtremepc
