Hello, my pc is crashing when i start to play a game. whe nit crashes to the desk top ther is and error message that says:
Ddhelp has caused an error in KERNEL32.DDL.
can some one tell me what is wrong, i have never had this problem before and the game has never give me any trouble

1st of all, Welcome to XtremePcCentral blacknight!
Now, what version of Windows are you running?
2nd, what game are you attempting to play when you receive this error?
3rd, what is the EXACT error message, word for word, that you receive? Is it a BSOD?
I need to know the above atleast, so I can help you out.

Actually, I've found what may be the problem:
Error Message: DDHELP Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module KERNEL32.DLL (Q303174) (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q303174)

SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to play an MPEG file with any movie player, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
DDHELP caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if your DirectX video driver is damaged or incorrectly installed.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
(1) Download the current version of DirectX.
(2) Right-click the desktop, and then click Properties .
(3) Click the Settings tab, and then click Change Display Type or Advanced Properties . Note the name of your display driver.
(4) Click Change in the Adapter Type section, and then click Show All Devices .
(5) In the Manufacturers box, click Standard Display Types .
(6) In the Models box, click Standard Display Adapter (VGA) , click OK , and then click Close .
(7) Click OK twice.
(8) Click Yes if you are prompted to restart your computer.
(9) Reinstall DirectX.

Thanks for the reply, Im running windows me and the game is Operation flashpoint and this is the exact message from the fault log

i reinstalled direct x 8.1, restored my pc 3 days back, running a scan disk and it is still doing it, i have no idea what could be cause. do you think i need to reinstall the game and if i do need to reinstall it is there a way i can save or back up the folders in the game because if i reinstall it. i will lose alot of information that it would take me weeks to get back in there .i write xml and sqm,sqs scripts and i write alot of description.exe files for the game and thaty stuff is not easy to write .

Have you run a SFC? (system file checker) and replaced any corrupt or missing system files yet?
You do this from the run line. just type sfc and hit the run button
