My xp2500 is at 1.74 V, I think. Is that normal? It runs flawlessly. I was curious. Thanks.

1.65 is stock voltage. so you are running a bit over stock. Double check your settings in your bios

What kind of power supply you have running?

It's a Enlight 300 W. The voltage is set automatically by the board. It's a Gigabyte GA-7S748. I also have an Allied 400 W and the setting is the same with it.

What does the BIOS actually report? Even though it can be set for X voltage, it can still vary by a great margin. I had a video card that was set to 3.3v. The BIOS reported a fluxuation between 2.99 and 3.1v. I swapped it out with a different PSU and it corrected the problem. This was with me, it might help you, it may not work.

The bios is saying 1.713 to 1.73. I tried a different psu already. The processor isn't having any problems. I'm just curious as to why it doesn't run at 1.65.

Did you purchase this board new, or off somone? If you purchased it off someone and the board was "set" to 1.74v, there's a good chance that whomever owned it, overclocked it, but when it was sold, failed to remember the voltage settings. I would suggest, IMO, that the board be "reset" to 1.65v for this. You may, up to you, want to reset the whole board, in case other things are upped that shouldn't be. This is my opinion and whatever you do, is what you do. :)
This is the only logical explanation I can think of for the behavior of the processor as reported in BIOS. If you didn't do it, someone else had to have. Every socket-A board that I've sold in the past year has had correct voltages.
To answer your original question... is it normal? I would have to safely answer "No."

The interesting thing that I found this morning is that the bios reports the voltage at being over 1.7, but a program that I like called AIDA reports it at being 1.68.
This was a new board that was unopened that I bought from Multiwave. I'll look at the manual to see if it says anything. I'll also try the fail safe settings in the bios.
The thing is that the board runs perfectly and so does the cpu. I was just concerned that voltage is high.

If your temps are ok (32-37c idle) and (39-46c load) then your ok and leave it. Try 1.65 vcore though to see if it's still as stable.
