But if your mobo can change mulipliers..........then with a pencil you can have a 1000, 1050 or maybe more. ;)

Just found this (http://www.plasma-online.de/index.html?content=http%3A//www.plasma-online.de/english/identify/guide/hw_uninstalled/type_cpu_amd_k7x.html) which explains what some of the other numbers mean. Couldn't find anything that said whether that particular chip is multiplier locked or not, just that the stepping code is ANDA and it was manufactured in the 33rd week of 2001 (I think).

Also it looks like the Duron 950 was the last Duron to not have Data Prefetch and SSE compatability (http://www.sharkyextreme.com/hardware/reviews/amd_duron1ghz/2.shtml).

Change mulitpliers? YOu mean those numbers in the bios that you set to make the chip read as the correct speed..
I've been meaning to ask someone about that :D

So like I'm game,, what should I poke? :D

Multiplier x FSB (Front Side Bus) = Your CPU's Rated Clock Speed

You can change these settings to either Underclock or Overclock your CPU, or to set it at it's correct speed. This can be done by using DIP switches, jumpers, and/or your BIOS.

Refer to the countless articles on overclocking that explain how to do this in more detail, and if that's your CPU you might consider OC'ing it also. The pencil is for connecting bridges on the actual die if I'm not mistaken thus allowing you to unlock the CPU, we do this for some T-Birds/Durons to allow us to OC them.

I'll try and find more info about this.

Here is a link to penciling in the bridges to unlock an AMD chip

I personally just raise the fsb on most overclocks, but have done the above as well..
;)
If it won't overclock..I don't need the chip..LOL
latest build was a 1 gig duron..set the fsb to 133 (266)..and voila..way more speed..all you really need is quality ram and quality cooling

I have quality ram.. hmm but I don't know if the board can handle it.. I think 200 fsb is the best my little workhorses do.. (hey 30 bucks each) I have a Abit kt7 raid. but it's prolly too old..
Oh well..

Actually I think I did stick that chip in my Raid box..

The abit KT7-raid indeed cant do 133 fsb, i think the most people squeeze out of it is about 112, this is the reason they made the KT7A, so they could support 133(266) cpu's.

I doubt your ram would be a problem though, I have 2 sticks of generic pc100 running fine at 133. From my experiences almost all pc100 ram can run at 133 fine.

And if your memory PC-100 has problems running at 133Mhz, you'll have better luck if any setting the memory to CL3...
