3D Studio Max 6

ok gang I am new to the whole 3D world, I use Studio MX 2004 for my web design but have just started with 3DS Max 6 and to be honest I am lost, anyone else use Discreet software who might have examples around the web somewere? discreet charges for tutorials so I was looking for examples if possible.
