Hi all. With the system in my sig my cpu temps have been running around 41-42* C at idle, and 44*C under load. I know that is a perfectly ok temp, but i think my case could do better. I have two fans in the front-intake, to fans in the back-exhaust, and one in the side window-intake. I was thinking that if i put a pretty big exhaust fan or two in the top, and change all the rest to intake, it would significantly lower case and cpu temps. Am i right? Also what options do i have to install a fan in the top of my case? Im not all that great at cutting and stuff. But i was thinking that if i could cut a round hole and drop in a round fan, it would look just fine. By round i mean like it has a round lip that sets on top of the case, and the fan would sit down inside the top of the case. Kind of like mounting a subwoofer in an enclosure. Does any company make a fan like that? I havent been able to find one. Thanks for any help!

Welcome to XPC PCBliss.... Btw I have moved your system config into your profile as we dont allow Sig's like yours here at XPC...Please take a moment and check out the "stickies" forum for some helpful insights to XPC....

I love my Top case fan....It really helped my systems that have them. You might also want to check out NDC's article in the Guides section of the site on Cooling..

Yes, the case-top exhaust fan will make a significant difference in case temps without a doubt. I run a 120mm case-top fan and comparing the temps with the fan ON and OFF is amazing..

NDC, did you mount the top fan yourself? Or did your case come with a slot for a fan there? If you mounted it yourself, do you have any pics that i could go by?

You will need to get a hole saw or use a dremel to cut the case-top fan.
