View Full Version : Directx9 install trouble

I have directx 8.1 on my computer, and every time i download directx9 from microsoft, it installs and reboots my computer but it never switches to directx 9. Ive heard that sometimes there are problems when swithching from 8.1 to 9.0...... how do i fix this problem? Thanks

My son has an Asus A7N8x Deluxe, and he can't get it to install either. I'll be watching this topic for the resolution.

Yeah its starting to make me mad. I installed on my girlfriends pentium 3 computer no problem.

Ok well i guess i do have directx 9.0. I went to the start menu, clicked on run, and typed dxdiag. Its saying i have directx9.0b which is good. But 3dmark2001se isnt letting me run the program saying i dont have the proper directx installed. Also PCmark2002 is reporting that i have directx 8.1, even though i have 9.0b. Hmm oh well i guess futuremarks software has a few problems.
