OK - so I'm WAY behind on my MP3 stuff - and am looking for a good visual WAV editor out there with a bit more functionality than what came with win2kpro......Any suggestions out there? Also - if you can recommend a bona-fide for pay program with good graphics. I'm using Freerip for the 192 encoding and am quite pleased with it, so all I need is something to edit WAV files to take some of those awful pre-ables off some tunes.....

Not excactly what you've asked for;) but this I just found yesterday http://www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~pesch/
Great for basic direct editing of MP3, nealy no footprint.

For WAV editing I use the package which came with my burner SW. Most have them included in the premium editions, so no need to look for that, sorry.

This one should do it for good and free :D http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

no doubt about it - audacity is a good product, but it leaves the file in an aud format - and if you translate back to wav - it's in monotone - not stereo - so no dice there - but thanks for trying -

still looking for "candidates" -
