1. How do I enable the File menu to display the recently opened documents? Now I found the option to enable it in the Options (or Customize) menu, but it's grayed out so that I cannot select it?? I'm logged on as the Administrator, yet I still can't access it. And it's a fresh install of the program on a fresh OS too...

2. How do I disable Word's automatic paragraph indentation??? I've always 'lived with it shoving the previous lines over when I press the TAB key, then dragging the arrow on the ruler back to it's original position, so that the previous lines go back to the left. But then I realized, why do I have to do that everytime??? I checked the Autoformat menu, but I can't find anything that's pertinent to this. I've tried disabling all of them, but it still does it. ???

I apologize for not being able to answer your questions @ this moment, but be sure to check out my Office XP Tips" that comes about every week in the [b]Tips, Tricks, & Reference[b] forum. There are tons of useful tricks and other resources in there, and maybe some answers to your questions too. :)

No rush, Jadison. Yeah, I browsed your tips before I posted, and I couldn't find anything relevant to my issues. These things have been little annoyances that have been buggin' me, that's all. When you have time, LMK if you know what's up. Thanks!

Rename this, move that, forget about this option......

Uhm, I like Win2K and Office 2K, NOT XP anything, except for AMd's that is:D

I'm not sure but in OfficeXP you can go to tools/options/general and there is an entry for how many recently opened files to show under "files".

Your second one confuses me since my documents didn't indent automatically. I had to set up a style sheet to do it. I suspect someone has set your "normal" style sheet to autoindent at the start of paragraphs. If that's the case, you just need to modify the style sheet.

I used three style sheets--block paragraphs, indent first line, and indent both margines--which I access with keyboard commands.

And, although it's not on topic, I rather enjoy WinXP and OfficeXP.

this is what webster's dictionary said:
digress

v 1: turn aside esp. from the main subject of attention or course of argument in writing or speaking; "She always digresses when telling a story" [syn: stray, divagate, wander] 2: wander from a direct or straight course [syn: stray, sidetrack, depart, straggle]
