I just started using Windows ICS, and the WinXP network wizard originally installed the Internet Gateway icon on my Win98 box(s) when there was an active internet connection, but now it's gone? Without the icon in my tray, there's no way I can see my internet connection speed or my connection properties, nor can I disable the internet connection from the client machines. How do I get it to display again on my Win98 clients? And yes, the option on the gateway computer labeled Allow other network users to control or disable the shared internet connection is checked

Here's (http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/internetgateway.htm#98) what it should look like in my tray, but I don't have it?

Hmmmmm from within your network properties is there a check mark "show icon" checked?

Not that I can see? The the network dialog boxes all look the same as they did before I ran the XP network setup wizard.

There is a program in the startup file that must be alowed to run called...
SSDPSRV if you disable it, you don't get the XP options. ;)
