Hi ;)....
Could you please explain why the VIA 4in1 drivers are not necessary in winXP ...
I have installed the Pro version od winXP .. it is working fine without the via drivers ...
So, will installing the new version of VIA drivers make any improvement in performance ?....
Regards :D

If you have a VIA based mainboard and running a version of Windows 2000 or prior, you have to install VIA 4 in 1. AGP texture acceleration may be disabled on various mainboards, and USB may not function properly. Another problem that may arise will be power management under Windows... These are the problems I've noticed when VIA 4 in 1 isn't installed on VIA chipset mainboards... As for Windows XP, installing VIA 4 in 1 will not be necessary since only one driver is installed which is the Via Inf Driver for VIA power management. XP's power management function works fine without the VIA patch from my past experience running XP on various VIA based mainboards...
VIA 4 in 1 will load in XP, just the much... I saw no difference that I could detect under Windows XP with or without it as far as power management...

No, it won't improve the performance since it only installs the VIA INF - VIA Power Management feature...
