It looks like ThinkTank have realised what we are up to and have increased their output. We delivered a reasonable output, and still beat them by 38 thousand points. That margin is dropping though. However, I expect a large dump from the top 10 members within the next couple of days :)

CHITA:
Looks like you have a stray cow amongst your herd somewhere...

In other news today, a lorry carrying wigs that was hijacked early this morning was involved in a nasty accident, police say they are combing the area.

Milestones:
--------------
BRYDON - 100 thousand hits
tmx468 - 45 million molecules
GEOBOT - 20 million molecules
Manda - 250 thousand points
CHITA - 150 thousand points

ThinkTank fighting back, huh! Well, they have 2 hopes,

Bob Hope and No Hope!!

Nice numbers, everyone!

Onwards and Upwards!

As an aside, my humble output may drop a bit in the next coupla weeks, as part of the convalescence I am off to NYC tomorrow! :D

However, I should return having set up 3 or 4 more remotes over there!

:)

WOW! Nice work, Team!! :D

Looks like Plum is gonna be in the Top 10 soon - and one of the Top 10 will not be!

TT seems to be getting away from my straying cows. The kids are on holidays and are messing up the herd a bit. :o

Ah, well, crunch on, everyone!!

You need MORE POWER, Gohan!! :D

Check the neighbours windows for telltale signs of monitor use, then knock on their doors and give 'em a FAD pitch! :D

The doctors have done their bit, all that's needed now is a coupla hours in Old Navy, Breakfast at the Carnegie Diner and maybe a show or two....!

Just for the exercise, of course!

Yeah i do, i get annoyed by my fans if i don't turn it off, and that even i have only 2 of them (cpu and energy supply thingy) and my case is closed, but it just really ****es me off, i want it to be silent when i'm sleeping. :)

On second thoughts you're too nice a guy for the last suggestion, so forget it (for the time being).

You need to invest in quieter and more efficient Fans ... too bad you aren't in US ... I'd send one or two for ya

I guess all your fans on XPC are just too rowdy too.

Yeah I get that too. It was ok when I used a Duron 700@933, it was just a small fan, and did the job well. However, once I bought a bigger fan (Volcano 7 then Coolermaster X dream) I need to turn the system off at night otherwise I can't sleep.
If you're on Linux there's a cool trick:
instead of typing "shutdown -h now" you could type "shutdown -h 30" for it to power off in 30 mins rather than immediatley, that way you get a bit more crunching done and you don't have to get out of bed to turn it off! :)
TBH my fans aren't that bad, when they're turned down low, but I like keeping my AthlonXP 1.62g chip under 38 degrees. Call me crazy. (Most people do!)
Congratz to all the 'stonerz as well!!

Seriously Gohan, have you tried going to sleep with some light background music ? If you have a radio alarm clock, the snooze function is useful.

Ever helpful

My house sounds like a wind tunnel. But If one fan shuts off I will notice it. I can't go to sleep with out the noise. I have several tornado 108 cfm fans all open on headless systems.

Plum Ugly's house is the reason for 'abnormal weather fronts' in the UK!

Hmmm, I have a soloution, sleep on the couch, It'll get you used to being married :D

Actually, have you thought of earplugs? They will help, (as long as you don't use an alarm clock to wake up :D)

I have mine in the basement (5 of them) and don't hear them at all on the second floor, can you move the PC to a closet? (provided yours isn't like mine, full of parts :bunny: )

Congrats all, keep up the great work, Oh and thanks for waiting for me CCristo :D

Hey, I sleep very well through all kinds of noise ... Wife likes to watch TV in the bedroom after I've dropped off. Only problem is that sometimes the sleeping brain hears the show and I wind up with gnarly dreams.

Sleep through thunderstoms like a baby ... but when the weather alert goes off (tornado warning) ... I wake up like a shot.

I have most of my computers (8) in the basement ... 3 floors from my bedroom.

Speaking of Fans ... I have the Y.S.Tech TMD fans on all athlons except my wifes.

At the same rpm as a regular fan, these fans are very noticeably quieter and keep the cpu's 2-3C cooler!!!

I had one computer with an XP2200+, and Evercool CUD-715 (very inexpensive heatsink) and the 5600rpm TMD fan on it ...
very quiet and under full load ...
< 41C with ambient room temp around 75-80. (Artic Alumina, of course)

Got the fans and heatsinks at www.nexfan.com ...

Been running the slower TMD 4500rpm fans on my dual
They perform much better than stock aluminum fan that comes on the heatsink.
They also are very, very much quieter ... I like quiet ... even here in the basement.
