View Full Version : Anyone want to jump on the Opteron Wagon?

I thought these boards would ru for much more. I saw one at Fry's made by Tyan going for about $550 USD and assumed that was the going price for these new motherboards.

But look at this motherboard from MSI! Only $212!

yep, I definately would like to try one, but I couldnt really afford it, made due with a single 64 for now.

the opteron boards aren't very expensive...it's the high-density memory and the faster clock-speed models where it starts to hit you in the wallet. :)

MSI uses a "SPECIAL" HSF bracket, that will only use the corresponding "SPECIAL" HSF, that MSI ships with the board.
Turns out, use of said HSF will void the warranty on your Opterons.

Pass.



I'm really thinking Tiger K8W at this point.

Great thinking on their (MSI) part, huh?
