View Full Version : Win2k Now Installed!
Well Guys, and Gals I finally made the big plunge to Windows 2000. I got it installed on the Soyo, with another hdd, which it's sole purpose in life will be to run rc-5.Tomorrow, I yank this mobo (Soyo), and put together the new Shuttle build with the XP1800 T-Bred B in it. It's supposed to o.c. right outta the box with stock air cooling to 2.3 to 2.4 gig. We'll see!!!! lol That will be my new web runner/ cruncher for rc-5.Mntsnow if ya see a computer come flyin by your window, you'll know the xp1800 didn't o.c. better than this xp2100 pally!!!!
It's been a long time since I've run Win9x on my systems.... My love for NT started back in NT3.51 and since then, it's been NT all the way for me...
So how do you like it so far? I would say now that you've made the plunge to Windows 2000, you will most likely not plunge back into Win9x/ME... Windows 2000 is so much more stable and smarter as far as memory management goes vs. 9x kernel..

win2k is IMO the best Windows OS, it works fast and very long without reboots!
BTW dont forget to defrag! i forgot it and now i have a totally fragmented HD :) so do that once in a month! =)

Win2K is more stable than a horses house, If I could bin XP and go back, I would!

I like XP more than I do Win2k. I like the features ion XP which 2K doesn't offer. XP has been a more stable OS for me than 2K...
