Ok I just built a new computer with the following components:
Asus A7N8X deluxe
barton 2500+
1 gig corsair XMS pc3200
Geforce 4 Ti4600 128mb 8x agp
Well everything is up and running fine, but i just cant seem to figure out why i cant get an 8x agp setting for my video card. I made sure it was unlocked in the bios. I have powerstrip and coolbits detonator driver, but they arent giving me an option for 8x AGP... what am i missing?

Oh also under adapter information in powerstrip, it says that the AGP device revision is 2.0, shoudlnt it be 3.0???
Yes, AGP 8x is 3.0, not 2.0...

so why on earth would my new board be at the 2.0 agp?
Well, your motherboard specs show that it's a AGP 3.0 motherboard according to ASUS site...

Yes i know but no matter what i tried i could not enable 8x agp, and in powerstrip it said that i had AGP 2.0. ohwell im RMAing the board back to newegg anyway. maybe the new one will read correctly for agp
Wel, it could be power strip itself that's reporting wrong.... have you also checked using WCPUID utility?
download it here..

I'm running AGP 4X card on my 8X port, but it shows the correct AGP spec as you can see below...

Ok i will check that when i get my computer running again. Also i downloaded coolbits and that says my card is running at 4x, and there isnt even an option to turn on 8x
Well, give WCPUID a shot and keep us updated.. Thanks...

Well i got my motherboard back and everything is up and running. Got a 9800 pro, scored 17,200 in 3dmark :), AGP is showing version 3.0 now. The problem must have been the ti4600 that i had
Glad to hear all went well... :)
