I have not been able to install Easy CD creator 5 in XP it just won't work. :( I have a Lite on CDrw, and it doesn't recognise it.
I can make Easy CD 4 work in XP, but only withing one week of installing the XP OS, then it refuses to open, gives error like "can not launch cdr4... somthing.
I can install cd5, but it hangs on closing cd's.
I gave up and just use Nero now, works with no problems.
PS: I don't know if it was the update patch or not, but after installing the compat patch, my D3D refused to work in fullscreen over 640x480. I had to reinstall XP to get around it.
That's strange... I'm currently using EZCD5 on my system at home and don't have any problems using it. I've done about 4~5 reinstalls of Windows XP and EZCD5 and haven't run into any problems, yet. I've read in some posts that you need to disable the XP CD Burning Service to make EZCD5 work smoothly under Windows XP. However, I don't have this service disabled, never had to... Have any of you guys tried disabling this service to see if it solves the problem? The version of EZCD5 I'm running now is 5.02b and DirectCD 5.10 (133)...
As for having D3D problems after installing app compatibility, I'm wondering if that's really the case. I also installed that patch and don't have any problems on any games. However, I do suddenly have this problem where Max Payne boots me to the desktop as soon as a new or saved game loads. But this started happening much after app compatibility was installed so I doubt this was the reason for the problem...
Did you reinstall the app compatibility patch for this new install of Windows XP, BBA? If you did, is this problem occuring again after you installed it?
No, I have not reinstalled the appcompat patch. I have no reason to.
I still think it might have had something to do with it...my boss just had the same problem on his, and he installed the patch as well.
As for CD5, I have never been able to make CD5 work on this PC...I think it's the PC, not the CD5. Even had the same problem with W2K on this PC. CD4 works fine with W2K and XP ( at first ), but not 5, it always hangs on closing cd's.
Are you talking about the D3D problem?
Well, if your boss had this same problem after installing the app compat patch, maybe the problem does have something to do with it. It certainly shows consistency so far...
