I have posted about this laptop before here. I tried a replacement screen and inverter allready.
I have a laptop that has a wacked monitor. I actualy think its the onboard video controller/connector. The VGA output works on the back of the laptop and I can use it with an external monitor. I tried a different lcd and inverter with no luck.
I want to know if its possible to wire the lcd screen to a VGA connector and plug it into the rear VGA port of the laptop. I wouldnt know where to start looking to see if its possible. Laptop is a Sony Vaio PCG FX120. I can solder ok, so let me know what you think.
The problem was with flickering and then shutting off or a very dimm lcd. The replacement did the same thing. I have no way to confirm that the replacement is good either. I was guessing that output to the lcd from the MB had actualy gone bad. The video controllers working fine and so is the output to the VGA jack and maybe just the output to the LCD had gone kaput.
Can I splice these wires or what. If so what goes where?
