When you say "launch" do you mean get one up and running or how to do a "press release"?

Gotcha....So your starting from Scratch.
Well for a "business" you will definitely want your own domain name such as I have here for XtremePcCentral.com :)
Then you will need to get a "Host provider" which is someone or some company to host and serve out your webpages that you will create or have created for you.
There is a bunch of little steps to be done but any good webhost provider will walk you thru those or they do them automatically for you. Heck you can buy your domain name right thru most host providers and they will handle everything for you...Just depends on what you want ....
For me I host everything myself and for a few others so I had to do this:
Buy Bandwidth and static IP addresses
Buy Domain names
Setup and config Networks and Firewalls.
Setup and config multiple DNS server and get them registered with the root dns servers.
Setup and config multiple webservers and database server
Setup and config email server
Setup websites (html, php and database coding)
Send out notifications to freinds and such about the website(s) being live and then keep fresh content coming in to keep poeple visiting :)
What type of website are you wanting to do? If just a personal one your ISP might already offer you some space for hosting a small personal site with a URL usually something like http://www.YourISP.com/~YourUserName while not the most "professional" naming scheme it does allow people to get their own personal site up with out incurring any new cost other than their monthly ISP charge :)
Holler if you have any more questions :)
Yes i am starting from scratch, and it will be a busness web site.
It will just be for my self, so do i have to do all of what is on the list?
Thanks Mntsnow, Fagin

Main question then is are you going to hire someone to host the website for you or are you wanting to host it your self?
I would take the cheapest option, which option would that be?

short term go with a paid hosting provider...Then as you learn and if you have the type of internet connection needed to be able to host a site then you can think about hosting it your self if you want.
OK thats the way i will go then, i will start looking for a Web host
Thanks again, Fagin
