I just recently purchased this motherboard off of ebay which they say is new. I install it and it says "mouse not found, not installed" even though both mouse and keyboard are connected. I tried switching plugs, thinkin i just plugged them inot the wrong slot but that was also not the case. Both keyboard and mouse work, so thats not the case.... Im totally lost on this. maybe Im doing something worng...I install all the parts and I insert the boot disk for my new hard drive...thats when i get the message. This is also the second time I had this problem with this motherboard. The 1st time i sent it back for a new one..now i have another board with the same prob.

Welcome to XPC!
Which kind of mouse you using? Serial, PS2 or USB? Have you tried using a different mouse? The mouse plugs into the GREEN PS2 port if using ps2

I have a ps/2 mouse. At 1st I had them switched because my keyboard had a green plug..but i switched them back. I have tried 2 different mice and came up with the same problem.
It seems like the whole port just doesnt work because my keyboard doesnt work either.

With the keyboard plugged into the Purple port and the mouse plugged into the green port when the computer first powers on and you see the POST screen if you hit the Delete key are you able to enter the bios? or are you getting a No Keyboard present error? Do you have different mouse and keyboard you can try? Make sure the computer is powered off when changing PS2 connections as you can ruin the ports and sometimes devices when doing so with standard desktop computers that dont support hotswap ps2.

when i start the computer, the keyboard does light up but doesnt allow me to push any keys. I dont get any error messages or anything about the keyboard, it just wont do anything. I only get the message about the mouse.

I tried both new keyboard and mouse but same problem. Do I need to install different drivers to make them work? Maybe Im doing something wrong rather than having a bad board.

That board will pick up a mouse and keyboard unless ps/2 support and keyboard are disabled in the bios.
Unplug all drives and remove all cards except for the video card.
Power it up and hit the "DEL" key to access the bios. If you can't get in, clear the cmos jumper one time and try again...:)
