Welcome, santax!

There are many.. Just depends how much you want to spend... Sony, Mitsubishi, Viewsonic, KDS are my favorites. KDS give you a bang for your dollars though in my opinion...

Sony is always good, you can't go wrong with that.

As for KDS, never heard of them either.

Really? What kind of problems. SonyTrinitron monitors are world class monitors... Very reputable. If I had money to buy all Sony monitors, I would.. hehe... Unfortunately, I can't. I just have one 21" Sony monitor....

I have a sony 17" flat panel. Its a SDM-HS73 (Don't get me wrong, its great when it works! ) Prob the best I ever had...But i have a 16" Tympany (never heard of it, I know) new in 1994 STILL WORKING! Had the Sony for 2 months and it quit. The main prob. is with cust. support, it took 1 1/2 months to get it back...with damage I may add. I pay top dollar for things to work not get burnt!! (just venting here!) I have a Sony surround sound that is the bomb! But i am really gonna think about another sony again.

Now three months later, I have a $577.48 used, repaired, and damaged monitor...NICE!!!!!

Diveram, I have a Sony E500 and it's the best monitor I have ever had.

My neighbor just had their 18"Sony flat panel die from lightning (direct hit to the house) and Sony replaced it via cross shipment that took less than 4 days.

I dont see a problem with Sony customer support, but it probably depends on what line of Sony product you buy...the cheap economy lines vs. the top of the line models.

I ended up getting a good deal on the NEC FE770.

Does anyone have or seen this monitor in operation, i would love a review :)

If not, you can always write an article on it. I'd be more than happy to post it in our XPC hardware Review (http://www.xtremepccentral.com/modules.php?s=&name=Sections&sop=listarticles&secid=1) page.. :)

back in the days when i was still using CRT's, i loved the sony trinitrons...wouldn't use anything else but.

now i use LCDs exclusively. but if you're still looking for a nice CRT display, samsung is worth a look. the sony's are nice but you usually pay a little more for them.

Personally, I prefer CRTs over LCD monitors. The color is much more accurate on CRTs vs. LCD monitors. Only benefit I can see with LCDs is that they conserve space and produce less heat...

I prefer CRT's too.

I got the room so why should i go for a monitor which is still less good and which you pay more for.

I personally havent noticed much of a difference between my LCD and CRT in terms of accuracy with colors....
the LCD is noticeably brighter and no glare - i can already tell the difference with no eye-strain after spending a few hours in front of the comp....

Samsung 174v 17.1"....gotta love it.
plus it made room so I could fit my case on the desk and not have to leave it only a foot off the floor....i like that.
doesnt heat up the whole damn room either :D

I always had Iiyama and I will never get another make...
I had a 19" Vison Master for 4 years. It never failed me. It is now waiting for a new owner as I have replaced it with the VM Pro 512 (22").
My wife has the VM 4113 (17" TFT).

These monitors are great value for money.
Sony are very good as well but they tend to be more expensive.

I've sold probably 150 monitors and the best one I've seen is the Samsung Syncmaster 753 DF. I've sold a couple of those. They are much brighter than the others (but not blindingly bright :) ).
The color is really nice and the dot pitch is good too.
I would like to get one for myself in the 953DF flavor.
