Welcome to XPC Gordon :)
The CPU setting will be in the bios. Go into the bios at bootup (Hit "delete" key to enter the bios)
Choose the cpu section and from there it's pretty straight forward :)

Hi, thanks for the help - but what about the SW_2 jumper settings on the board?? surley if they are set too high/low this will have an affect - and may burn the chip out (I have already lost one 2200!!!)
Thanks again

Settings for automatic and manual are marked right on the board.
SW1 1 thru 6 = ON
SW2 1 thru 4 = OFF, 5 = ON, 6 = OFF.
Decent full sized board. Been running a 1700+ on the one I have here...:)

Thanks for all the info guys - im sure it will help me get this sorted - MRCOMPUTER- one quick point - you refer to SW_1 and SW_2 - i assume SW_2 is the vertical group of switches on the left hand side of the board? and the SW_1 is the horizontal one in the middle of the board? Thanks again for all the help guys!! :) :) :) :) :)

SW2 is on the left side of the board under the Game port.
This is where it pays to invest in a magnifying glass.
All the info is on the board, (In small print)...:D

I spoke too soon!!!!! I had system up and running - was reading my cpu as an 1800xp - not a 2200, so i downloaded the bios flash and when i went to boot up the machine again it froze on post - then apparently burned out my processor again! i tried an old duron 1000 in it afterwards - and it fried that too!!! any ideas what might be the problem? as this is becoming an expensive hobby!! Thanks
