View Full Version : Will anybody set up a Socket 7 motherboard with me?

Yo I have to Socket 7 Mobos but i dont know the jumpers will somebody help me on aim or yahoo or walk me through it one is a FIC board I flashed but now it says checking VRM then i hangs dont now if its possible to reflash it the other board just needs the jumpers set thats all its running a Cyrix 333 Mhz and i was wondering if it can be fixed i just want to run Linux or 2000 Pro or Advanced Server to try them out and see if they work good ok later.

can you tell us the exact model of your FIC board?

Yes let us know which FIC board you have. I have a FIC 503 + i belive at work. I can easily get the pin outs for you.

Um thanks guys i dont know what model it is because i cant get past VRM when i boot up but can i send it to one of you or something to repair it it has a k6-2 + its running 500 mhz im sure just wanted it for my sister. Ok i have parts to trade to for a better motherboard. Um is it possible that someone on this forum has a AMD slot A mobo sittin around somewhere because if they do i would trade 2 Hubs and some video cards for it!!!

Can you look on the board for the info? There should be a name printed somewhere on the board, and the model number on a socket 7 board often is inbetween the PCI or ISA slots.

Dude it does say anything on the board it has a S/N which is 208880017101517 and B/N which is *C09*
It also has a Chipset of SIS 530 and on the board it says by the CPU VIC-2

I got this other motherboard that i want to use its a Soyo SY-5SSM model it can run AMD k'6 i want to run a 500 mhz k6-2+
I need help setting the jumpers. I tried myself but when i hook the power in i cant get it to startup.
