What was the name of the old style of monitor before VGA?
The socket on the back of those monitors look somewhat like a serial port.
The monitor is labled IBM PS2
I need to find a cable/adapter to hook this up to a PCI VGA video card.

You are Welcome.
Good Luck on your quest to find a cable.
Your local Builders or Independant Shops may have one in their "Storage Area"...:)

I have tons of old monitor cables. If you can tell me what it looks like I'll dig through my cubby I keep them all in. Over half the stuff in there I no longer remember what they are.
Im getting ready to toss a bunch of stuff so let me know.

Neo, what I'm looking for will have a male plug with 9 pins (top row 5 pins, bottom row 4 pins) on one end, and a standard VGA male 15 pin on the other end. Thanks!

HI Roadkill,
Just went through my stuff and I don't have one of those. Sorry I'll keep my eye out if I come across one in the next day or two.

Thanks for looking, Neo! I got a feeling this is going to be hard to find.

Before VGA was EGA, then earlier than EGA was CGA, IIRC. Still and again, IIRC, if it looks exactly like a serial port, it could be either.
If you are handy with a soldering iron and have some of the connectors.... http://www.hardwarebook.net/
