XPC game server - Q III or UT?

I'm wondering what the XPC gamers would rather have on a small 5 -6 person game server.
I've heard talk here befor about some peeps wondering about an XPC game server. I wouldn't mind hosting one on weekends this fall though the winter.
I have Q III team arena and if it's UT I would like it to be set up for co-op game play, { but I'm flexable on that :D to have DM or CTF instead } which I would have the needed co-op map mod (s) up on my ftp for downloading.

The Machine will be a:
700 duron, 512mb PC133 , WD ATA-100/7200 Hdd. on`98 as for some reason UT co-op crashes W2K alot but doesn't bother`98.

Why weekends? My ISP has changed their TOS due to the RIAA and all the P2P going on, I've talked to them about my ftp and about a game server, week ends for gaming would be all right and as long as I don't have a steady stream of what they consider heavy ftp traffic my little ftp is fine. they wouldn't give me a monthly gig limit cap amount tho so as I have never gone over 10 g's, usally about 2 -3 at tops, I suposse thats cool with them.
And besides, I'm here more durning the cold months on weekends, and weekends also gives me more time to join in the fragging :D

Only game that i got with that style is just the normal Quake 3.

Thonka: I can't run UT2003. no enough cpu HP or vid HP. our boxes agp vids range from SIS 8mb to a voodoo 16mb to TNT2's @ 32mb. the unreal co-op maps look awsome running glide with the voodoo, much more life like then with the TNT2 cards.
And I run old Intel Iron, Petnium 233 mmx, P II 450, two Celerons 700's, P III 600Eb, a AMD Duron 700 and our lan server is a dual P III 850E.

GohanSSJ: ya would have to DL the coop maps and Amp anyhow from me or wes's or roots server. I would even burn them up and send them to ya. yea I know ya live over the puddle :D

its similar to half life team fortress, but its set during world war 2. you get planes, tanks, apc's etc...all of the period weaponry from then. http://www.eagames.com/official/battlefield1942/home.jsp

Yeah but i only got Quake 3.

you can run ut2003 as a server and as a free download for it. They offer the download free for server usages. you need only like a 400mhz machine to run it.

Hahaha you dog, your right tho, I'm a man of my word & won't be doing the UT thing for awhile.
I've never played Quake III, and am looking for something that isn't as "life like" as UT, my wife feels that it represents unecessary violence that my girls are seeing, can't really argue with her there. UT can be very life like in certain game styles.
Is Quake the same or is it more animated or cartoonish? don't know what I'm really looking for except that it has to be more of a traditional game style.
Maybe if the Mario brothers could telefrag each other or shoot each other with deemers w/o the gore & blood & the language, maybe? possibly? I can always hope for a Mario FPS I guess :D

EZkill: flight sims like MS 95. 98. 2000 pro or the new 2002 flight sim or MS train sim or like our new one, Hard truck 18 wheels of steel, tractor trailer driving sim. no killing unless you like to crash up into things. hehe a 747 will do a roll btw, just don't plan on it to keep flying afterwards :D

I got all the ad on paks for the above flight sims, the nevada air race add on for 98 is cool.

See thats my problem Shark, I mostly like the FPS gamestyle, I just need to find one that isn't so realistic & I think we'ed both be happy.
I'm just going to have to by Quake III & give it a shot, see what it's like for myself.

good, Tho Q III is a tad fast for my liking, lol, reminds me of fragging on the crackerz's server, they run at 120% in turbo mode for CTF.
I just reset up " return to na pali " it's Unreal mission pak #1. on our lan game server. I think it's disk 3 of the game of the year set that has the oringal unreal. Copy that folder over to your UT folder and ya got most of the maps for co-op play :D
Don't replace anything when it asks you if you like to replace something, excample: do you want to replace map vortexrikers made on 03/2000/ with this one 03/2002? it ask's about umx files mostly.

get Falcon 4.0 and the map undate #3 with desert storm and have a blast :D
