So what is your pick for your favorite all time Motherboard?

For me it would have to be my Abit VP6 motherboard. It's still in use today and has been rocksolid from day one.

question #2 what would be your pick for the AMD Dual CPU motherboard and why?

I don't think I ever had a favorite motherboard!
I only keep a machine about 1 year then sell it while I can still get a good price for it!
For what I pay for parts I can run a new machine for a year then dump it for what I paid for it!
I actually have people waiting for me to get rid of this 1.4 Athlon rig on an Abit KT7A-Raid board!
So far I have used a different brand of board for the last 8 years!

Doesn't quite qualify as an answer! but hey I'm posting:D

Well actually thats is a good answer....The only boards I have truly kept longer than a year are my Dually systems (My Abit VP6 and BP6) The BP6 is the system that actually Hosts this site.

My favorite so far is Abit VP6 also. Actually, I usually buy Abit mainboards for all my systems and people I build systems for. Currently, all three of my systems are from Abit. VP6, BE6-II, and KT7A-RAID. Also have a BX-133 at work...

Oh boy, this is terrible.. I prolly shouldn't say this.
I have had 3 different brands of boards.
Abit, MSI, PcChips.
I have some right now that are going better than ever before.
All PcChips or ECS. I love them. Rock Solid. 4 of them running 24/7.
Is it the good little workhorse? Or am I finally figuring out how to set up a board right? :D

I'd have to go with the Abit BF6, one of the first good boards with 1mhz overclocking.

My MSI K7T Turbo (MS-6330) has proven its usefullness, and the features it provides are just right for me (for now anyway, ;) ).
It's OC'ing features haven't been tested yet, but they offer the kind of OC I would need if I chose to do that. I haven't had any problems with the board since its purchase in June of 2001.

I've had intense experience with several other boards, but for now the MSI board is perfect for me (although I still wish I had bought the DDR board instead, but oh well  ).

Looks like the general concensus is, Whatever works for Ya!

Well my oil man just picked up my KT7A-Raid machine!

Heating oil for the year plus a couple of C-Notes in my cache!

Jadison: I just ordered a MSI K7T Turbo2 to replace my defective ECS K7S5A. I hope I like it.

I would have to say the two more rock solid boards I've had are my FIC PA-2013 and Abit BH6.

I'd have to say that the a7v is the best I've ever used, although the bp6 is nice too. as a general rule my favorite boards are asus, just have little trouble with them :)

I really can't say. I've mostly bought Abit. I have had to RMA a brand new one and that sucked. I do like Abit but probably won't buy one again.

i have used biostar.epox,asus.

the asus was my first and most difficult(being the first).

the easiest was the biostar.(didn't have any problems)

but my love is my epox.(maybe because i am still learning with this one)

i sold the other two.

Come on surreal I thought you was an expert! :p :p :p :p

Funny and I replaced my MSI K7T turbo with my ECS! :D
It got sick, I don't know if it's dead or just in a coma..
ohh I think I see another hunnie doo project when my b/f comes to visit! ;)

I was very disapointed in my Abit KT7 Raid board. :(

I hate to admit it, but the best board I have now is my PC Chips 590 LMR!
Its have been running for over three years! And its hosting my UT games!
I hate it, but I cant kill it!

Also, my Epox 8KTA+ has been very good.
My buddy sells Chaintech's for his cheap systems, like my other two, and I have not had any problems with them either. Plus he said in the last year, he has only had 1 board come back that was not working! Not bad for about 300 PC sold!

Dual, not yet, but wishing....
Looking at the Tyan and Asus

So we have another PCChips owner come out of the closet! :D

MRCOMPUTER

Those of us who know PC Chips products, were Never in the closet to begin with...;)

I get a big kick out of the Wannabe Techs that flame PC Chips products. They moan/cry and flame, when the inexpensive solution they purchased, is not the foundation they wanted for that "Mega Gaming Machine".

Gimme a Break!...:(

They shake their fist at PC Chips for no Tech Support.
PC Chips does not sell boards to end users. The Vendor you purchased the board from is responsible for this.
Most problems are easily resolved by reading the mainboard manual or browsing the mainboard cd for drivers. Don't tell me you did not get these. PC Chips ships them with every board.
If you did not receive them with the board, the Vendor you purchased it from removed them. Contact that Idiot(s). Find out why you didn't get them with your board.

PC Chips sells/ships more mainboards than anyone else. Why?
They build a quality, inexpensive solution. The price vs features is very attractive to Builders and Resellers. Its interesting to note that most of the other mainboard manufacturers, (Including the "Big Names"), started selling all-in-one soultions also.
Maybe its not such a bad idea after all.

Enough of a Rant for you? More available on request...;)

I have used a lot of different boards..my favorite for a BX board was the Abit BH6. For AMD, well, that's tough. I have several MSI K7T Turbo2's here, an ECS K7S5a..hmm..I like my Gigabyte GA-7DXR best I guess.
Now..the AMD duallie..I want to get a duallie board, but the Tyan doesn't look like what I need..has to be overclockable, or I don't have a use for it..LOL
What's out there?
:)

NDC

Yeah, I also want to build an AMD duallie. As a matter of fact, I was going to buy the ASUS A7M266-D (http://usa.asus.com/mb/socketa/a7m266-d/overview.htm). Thank god I didn't! I seem to see many problem posts on this particular mainboard. I think waiting for bit for the next generation of AMD duallie boards may be ideal...

I think the newer tyan duallie is very good, but havent read too much on it.
I'll look around the boards and see

(edit)
I looked at www.2cpu.com and they give the new tyan 2462 (?? the newer one, hehe) a very good rating.
There forums are down right now, but there review section is one of the best I know of!
Maybe before Christmas I'll have one.....:bunny:

What's your new favorite, Mntsnow? 8-] (sorry, hehe)

Anyway, for me, my only experience with long-time board usage is with Abit. Have a P3 450 still running on a BX6-2 for around 3(?) years now, and my KT&A is just a year old.

Other / Older boards have been sold..

I'd have to go with the Abit BF6, one of the first good boards with 1mhz overclocking.

That was a good board for me until it died  Lasted all of 1 1/2 yrs dammit!

My Epox SS7 w/K62-450 cant be killed :D
ECS dually with one 566 Celery  is great
and my two Gigabyte boards are rock solid too [duron and P4]
