i just bought a 19 inch crt monitor for my room and it is too big for my dresser.

so looking at this monitor is giving me a pain in the neck.(a real pain)

i can't fit a computer table into my room not enough space.

so i want to get a 15inch lcd for my room.

i really don't want to spend more than 400.00 dollars if possible.

i don't play games

i watch dvd movies

and i have a matrox g450 video card.

can anyone suggest a lcd that would suit my purposes?

now you know bigger is better(at least that's what you guys keep saying:) )

so if i can get a 17 inch for around a very low 400.00 i will take recommendations for this size also.

My wifes 17" NEC is a nice monitor.

Check out NewEgg or even BestBuy/Circuit City. I am starting to see deals on 17" monitors in the 300-400 dollar range.

My daughter has a NEC and son has a sony and the NEC is by far better. I have seen some nice Samsung's and almost purchased on but decided to go for a 21" crt instead and let me tell ya it takes up an acre by itself.

I use several Dell LCDs, no problems, no complaints. Wait for a sale then buy. Sites like www.techbargains.com keep track of sales for you so you just hit their sites instead of Dell or whoever. Right now Dell has a 2.2ghz Celeron system with a 15" LCD for $500 shipped but they don't have any seperate LCDs for sale cheap right now.

For $400 you can set your sights higher than the 15" model, shoot for a 17" or 18" model instead. From Dell, I can vouch for the 1701FP and the 1800FP being excellent monitors. I think I paid $400 shipped for the 1800FP LCD.

They're definitely smaller. I went from a 20" Trinitron to a 20" LCD and now I have all kinds of space behind the monitor where before there was none. Lighter too.
