I was researching this pcmcia card over the last few days - trying to get it sorted out - I had a net running[netbui-only three boxes at most] till last week or before - trying to figure out whether the creditcard fried itself or not.
Yeh it pings 127.0.0.1 but nothing more- and when you install protocols -it acts dumb and will not bind the card to the protcols so you can see what is up.
tcp/ip and ipx are just as dumb - I am tossing in my modem to try and looad it correctly and get it talking to the outside world.
reason I post the ? is this - How do I figure out whether this card has this upgrade or not - and does firmware upgrading act like flashing your bios? You know - you stumble blindly into a pit - hope you didn't frag something you needed and then come out the other side lily white and refreshed wondering why yo had not done it first instead of conplaining about it for so long.
I am also trying to make sure that this is running on a dos capable driver - as this laptop does not have a cdrom.
