Guys I'm running an XP2100 Palamino Core overclocked. I'm running a Volcano 8 on it, and running about 130 degrees with it running dnet 24/7. I need some advice on cpu coolers for this thing that will hopefully bring my temps down some.BTW I already use Artic Silver on the heatsink. Can you overclockers please give me some advice on a better cooler????

How is the airflow in the case? To be honest with you, 130F = 54.44C isn't too bad at all considering that Dnet is running 24/7. However, if you want to see if you're getting enough airflow in the case, you may want to remove the cover and see if that makes any difference in temperature. Personally, I like CAK-II 68 Heatsinks. Comparing the Vocano 8 to the CAK-II 68, I saw a diffence of about 4 ~ 5C. And it's only half the size which makes it possible for me to remove the heatsinks without unmounting the mainboard from the case like I had to with the oversized, non-efficient Vocano 8s...

NDC, I'm running a dual fan Enermax P.S. One rear case fan, a chipset fan, the volcano 8, and the side cover also has a window with a fan in it. Because of the hot temps we've been having here lately, I pulled the side cover off, to get more air flow to it, and I'm still running those temps. I pulled everything apart last weekend, and blew her out. I pulled the cpu heatsink, and fan, cleaned all the old compound off, and allpied new Artic Silver, so I know dirt, and dust buildup, is not a heat issue.

Unless you want to fork out some cash for slightly cooler temps, I wouldn't worry about it. That is unless you're having reboots, disk, system errors. Here is what my MP2000+ are running at. And this is without Dnet running. It's pretty hot nowadays so...

My 3000 runs at 51C fully loaded running ECC2 24/7. This is what I run for a burn in test. I have an antec 1080 case w/ 550 ps,2 fans in front and 2 fans in rear and 1 side fan. I just bought a Dremel tool so I am experimenting on putting 2 80mm fans as blow holes on top to see if this will bring it down.

Oh, I have the Volcano 11+ on the chip.

If you have a decent case fan, the Zalman will bring CPU temps down to under 40ºc pretty consistantly, even when OC'd.

Which zalman is the best to get, and where is a good place to get one? thanks.
