Have you tried it in a different slot? I have a FA310TX Netgear card currently in use in my 2003 server without problem. Have you tried a different nic in the server?

sorry about the two postings Mike, I been very tired and I couldn't find it, so I thought it was lost as my box crashed right after I clicked send.
Another slot? yes I tryed that, the next one down, I'll try the others later. And that nic worked under 98 befor and works in my other boxes, I do have a 10 base 3Com I can try.
I read today an artical that sugested removing the nic, deleting the drivers and editing the registy and leting windows find it upon a new boot, and it was mention to try and install a nic after 2003 was up and running. since I am not to handy editing the reg. I'll go the other route, I havn't activated it yet so no headaches from MS as to why I'm asking for activation agin so soon.

Head over to download.com and look for a program called RegCleaner 4.3. (not to be confused with M$ RegClean). I'm like you in that I don't like poking around in my registry. This little program allows you to go in and delete registry entries by putting a check mark in the box next to the part you want to delete. It's great for cleaning up after uninstalls.
It also makes a backup, which is a great feature. If something doesn't work correctly after you remove an entry, you can always restore it. I've used it before when trying to reinstall a version of my son's Sims games. He went in and just deleted the folder. :wtf: When I tried to reinstall I would get a message the program was already installed and the process would crap out. I used RegCleaner to remove anything to do with the Sims and was able to install with no problems.
