new raid/cd rom weidness as slave ide 2

we just setup raid0 on my kt3 ultra2-r board its fine
however my acer 56x cd rom on ide 2 is acting freaky takes forever to read and misinstalled a program while hanging
are they by jumper setup for slave by default
can i change to master in bios what if jumpered as slave im running 98se

If there is any drive on the second ide controller with the cdrom, you can set the cdrom as slave and the other drive as master. You should use a standard ATA-66/100 IDE cable, because some OEM type cables will have a conductor cut for cable select use. ( Cable select settings on both devices would work in this case.)
