OK I am thinking of doing an animated avatar but I have no idea how to do it. I have adobe illustrator which I believe can be used. I have no experience with such programs and IMO no particular talent but I am eager to try (I blame Gohan with his cool DragonballZ avatars :))

So could someone help me or show me somewhere that could explain how these are created.

thank you

I'm not that good either Keith and I'm sure there is easier ways to do that I have done in the past so I will defer to the "image" pros of the site to help and explain......I know that NDC has been buried in study lately but I think he might pop in soon :)

To create a GIF animated file, you can use Adobe ImageReady, not Photoshop or Illustrator.

Wha exactly did you have in mind? Post an image and explain and perhaps we can help... :)
