Slave Drive?

I have a couple of Dell Dimension XPS H233 Systems
I can not get either one to take a slave drive
does anyone know if this particular pc won't take it?

the specs are as fallows:
Intel Pentium2 MMX
Ram 128MB
4gig Hard Drive
Video: STB Nitro 3D (S3ViRGE - DX/GX 375/385)
Sound: Yamaha OPL - SAx WDM Driver

Take a close look at the jumper settings on the HD's & CD drives as usually Dell uses the "Cable Select" jumper setting instead of "master & Slave" settings. If your Dell is using Cable Select then you need to use cable select as you cant mix types usually
