Pictures from the Gallery

Would it be possible to have a random picture from the gallery displayed in the side bar. I have seen it done where, as you move between different pages, a different image would be selected.
As it is I would not see most of the pictures in the gallery and this might make that section more noticed.

I used to do that but it adds extra queries to the database as well as more bytes to the pages loading which does impact our modem visitors. Thus I turned off that option for a while to see how much of an impact it will make on my bandwidth usage and load times
