can i fix on board video

my 2 neices were over this week end while i was away and now my video doesn't work on my system.

ecs k7som(sis chipset)
duron 950

when i turn system on i have a big black border and in the middle alot of running colors.

things i tried---

resetting the cmos battery
installing a pci video card
hooking the monitor up to another system(and it worked)

what else can i do to try and revive my video?

(deep down i am really looking for a reason to get a new board so i won't be upset with that suggestion):D

never mind it is the monitor.

when i hooked it up to another system it worked and then when i moved the system and monitor to another location it didn't work.

so now i guess i will be looking for another monitor.

Degauss your monitor. It might fix it and save you alot of money.

well i hit the Degauss button a lot of different times and still the same thing.

have you checked the VGA connector to make sure the pins aren't bent?
