PS2 mouse and keyboard extension cables

Hi...I am wanting to use a mouse and keyboard extender kit and KVM switch. I would like to know the maximum length that I can extend the connection cables from PC to switch...

This is a standard PS2 mouse and keyboard, for a compaq deskpro windows NT powered workstation.

Does anybody have any ideas..??

if you will post your switch name. I might be of help to you. some manf are able to use a longer lenght.
standard are usually 6 foot and can be streached to a or upto a 15 foot range cable.

the lenght would also be affected by the type of output connection cable you are useing from the system to the switch

you can also use a longer keyboard/mouse cable from the switch or system. I have used them before to reach the other side of the room when I couldn't get to my system for what ever reasons ect.

you also stated you are useing windows nt. what vesrion??

why not just go the wireless, I'm looking at a keyboard & mouse for my laptop as I type this reply.
