Those screenies look cool, I loved the original up to the alien world levels and from what I have read they have listened to fans as they made this game.

If you buy the new PC Gamer magazine it has a 4 or 5 page story on HL2.

Looks like RealTime graphics rendering.. took a 2nd look at it. Is the beta (if that is it) running the ATI or GeForce FX realtime rendering engines?

I downloaded the 600+ MB movie file showing a narrated run through of a few scenes...all I can say is WOW!

...each character has over 45 muscles in the face for expressions
...each character moves it's lips in an accurate response to vocal sound qualities from any wav file...it is so accurate, in any language, you can almost read his lips to see what the characters say.

It's definitely cool

( BTW: They ran it on a 9800 w/256MB memory.)
