View Full Version : Middle Earth Online!
Vivendi are set to announce details of this mmorpg within the next few days and will show the game behind closed doors at E3.
Since it was announced there has been no info on the game until now. The game is slated for release Q1 2004.
And I for one am praying that this game lives up to expectations :)
Hopefully more news soon

BTW this game is a MMOPRG too yes.
As the name implies it is a mmorpg set in Tolkeins world. It was initially announced as in development around the time of the first film I think but since then there has been no news or screenshots (so I wouldnt bother looking)
Vivendi was going through alot of trouble financially and it was around then that universal and them joined.
But that is all past and now hopefully things will look good.
There are too many good mmorpgs coming out that i want
Star wars galaxies (obviously)
Warcraft (as in the blizzard rts game)
Warhammer (set in the games workshop (minitures) medieval world)
Everquest 2
And as you mentioned Dragon Empires
too much to do not enough time :)

I'm spending most of my time on Diablo 2.
It's much harder to build a good char then you think :)
well a little earlier than i though but the first details and shots of the game have been released.

It is to be set during the time of the lord of the rings, but beyond that little is known. What I am interested in is what portion of Tolkeins world is going to be available and whether any of the more famous characters will be included as npc's (which would be cool).
The graphics look good so hopefully the rest of the game will be up to par.

Oh...Geeeze...
This might actually persuade me to play an RPG.
If, that is, it's really first-rate.
If they try to trade on the LOTR name, and release some crummy hack job, I'd be p!$$3d bigtime.
