After the initial Win2k screen when it's time to load the GUI it reboots after a short BSOD which I can't read cause it's a fraction of a second long but it's a memory dumping I suppose. I just ordered new MOBO and than I saw a thread from 1/31/03, posted from daveleau, who has exactly the same problem, but all the discussion ended suddenly without resolving the problem. I'm not able to get to Safe Mode, but I can load DOS... It's been acting weird the last year, after a stupid mistake on my part - I accidently moved the PC with the monitor hooked up so the GeForce2 MX400 was unplugged from the AGP....After that it wouldn't start, the monitor doesn't capture the signal at once ("No Signal") so I had to turn both the comp and the monitor at exactly the same time, than it would start, but usually not the first time. Anyway, It was fine, occasionally it would reboot with BSOD but not very often, like twice a month, than it would start freezing when there are too many windows opened..but it's like normal Windows s..t! ....untill now...First it started to reboot after certain events which require more video memory, like playing some game (LOTR), when playing a DivX movie and pause it or try to fast-forward it...but not always....Than I thought it's the RAM, cause it wouldn't let me do memory test using SiSoft Sandra, it reboots......so a couple of days ago I was putting new video drivers and after the reboot prompt it never started again...Tried everything, first the video card, than changing the RAM banks (have 2x256 , one Hyundai, one Smart, unbuffered, unregistered, cl 2.5), than fresh Win2k Pro installation, scanned Hard drive for bad sectors, flashed BIOS...still does the same ...now I'm replacing the Abit KG7-RAID MoBo...the only thing I haven't tried is to change the Processor AMD 1400.....but the CPU temperature is good and I'm able to get to DOS-mode after all....Please help...

Hi guys,
Sorry for not replying here. I have been TDY for the past month for the USAF.

My problem was resolved after replacing the processor. I had the same issues and it was very frustrating b/c I replaced the mobo first thinking it was the problem. Same with the video card. I would suggest trying a different processor in your system and see if that works, if you haven't resolved the problem already. I hope you already have, since I know how frustrating it is!

Dave
