First off Welcome to XtremePcCentral Stumpy

Next....Is this a New Install in the new system? If not is the drives configured exactly how they were before in the old system? (Ie Master Primary Master Secondary ect)

Double check in the bios the boot order and make sure you have the HD listed correctly Usually would be A, CD, C drive.

Also make sure you DO NOT have a floppy in the drive or a cd in the cd drive.

Let us know the answers to these and if they helped you...If not we will start into the more advanced troubleshooting

Sounds like you put the loaded HDD from the old system directly into the new system. The change in IDE and chipset controllers between the old MB and the new is not allowing 2K to load properly. It's safest to reload the OS when swapping MBs, but you may be able to either do a repair installation or put the old MB back in, boot into safe mode and remove the drivers in Device Manager, then shut down and reinstall the new MB and allow 2K to redetect the hardware on boot. Personally, I always reinstall after making a backup of any necessary data. The system tends to be much more stable.

Thanks for answering me guys and I guess I should have been more specific on the things I have already tried. It is a new install on the motherboard on and processer but the rest of the system is from thier previous system the motherboard and processer I replaced was a Procomp BST1M E board and a Celeron 500mhz Chip. I have checked the bios and they are config right ( as far as I can tell ) but I did just put the the hard drive in preloaded from the other system ( I was hoping I wouldnt have to reload it )
I tried the system repair off of the 2000 disk and it ran but the computer still did the same thing when I tried to boot it. I also tried starting it in safe mode on the new board and it still came up with the same error. But I did not try remove all of the drivers, I will try that , I can put the hard drive in my other dauther`s computer( The match to her old board and the next upgrade with the match to the new board ) I will let you know what happens and Thanks again for the ideas!!!!!
