any good programs OC through windows??? i would like to get this proc to 1.5, as i have read that this is the farthest stable point on this proc
What mobo are you using?
Giga-byte have a program called easy-tune (4 is the current one) which can be used to oc the chip in windows. I am pretty sure that other manufacturers have their own specific versions so look on their websites.
I dont know of any generic programs like there are for video cards

you can try CPU Cool from www.podien.de. It has an FSB increase function.

thanx paul...btw, your ram is in the mail
Why do you want to oc through windows?
That board has all the options you need to oc through the bios.

your bios doesn't have a way to increase the clock multiplier? that cpu should be unlocked.
See if you can adjust the CPU Ratio. The manual didn't state what FSB's it allows yout to toggle between, but from what you say, I assume its 100/133 only?

yeah, 100 at 11x and 133 at 10x...the 100 mhz fsb underclocks it, and i am not sure how to unlock the processor...i remember that the old durons could be unlocked with a pencil, but for the athlons, i dont know...i believe the pencil trick was to short the L1 bridge pins together...at least thats how i was taught...question thoug...arent the athlon tbrds 200 or 266 mhz FSB??? or is this 100 and 133 in my bios double pumped to get to 266 and 200???

the 266 is a double pipe 133. its not really 266mhz. just like the P4 is not really 400mhz bus.
the bioson my soyo dragon allowed me to change the multiplier and the clock speed (in 1mhz increments). I have the 1.4ghz 266 tbird. i dind't have to unlock anything.

hmm, i can only change the FSB though through the bios on the ECS K7S5A that i have....wont change the multiplier...i was also told that this proc, the multiplier can only be changed to 10.5x multiplier for it to be stable over at sysopt...:(

That motherboard is so popular that there is a forum devoted to it. It can be overclocked using a custom bios that is available at the forum site. Here's the link....have a look around and enjoy
