I've browsed the daylights out of the Creative site looking for manuals and drivers, but there's nothing there about putting a PC-DVD 8x drive into windows 2000.

I suspect that this might be a problem. There also doesn't appear to be support for NT for this drive that I've also got the de-coder board for it - a Creative DXR3 - package deal - model number MK5005 <<< not that this shows up in any of their on-line docs....

I'm about to go play on the MS site to see what it says about DVD support in 2000 - but thought I'd also post here to see what the crew has to day about it.

Maybe I'm lucky and 2000 will see the drive and auto-load software for it - but I doubt it.....

Hi Axel

I don't know about Creative, but when I was running W2K I had to install an app to get the DVD running. I used powerdvd ( either V3 or 3.5 can't remember - it was specifically for W2K) I also used the app that came with my decoder card.

I have the software on my computer as I use a 16x AOpen DVD player...I could send you the program via internet...or snail mail, let me know. Currently I'm looking for a place to find it on the web, but if you want I can send it to you.
