Heya Dan check my sig, this is a mild overclock,i am at 2256mhz without trying. I just need some better cooling now, then up goes the vcc and see what this baby really can do..

Cool, but you're running the t bred core.This one has the palomino core. It won't work with tbred, was designed for palomino.

Not sure that im following you correctly,

See if I got it right, your system was designed for Palomino? With .18 micron Tech meaning you should have pretty fair cooling as you have a higher default vcc.

But as T/Breds use .13 allowing lower default vcc , their core is smaller than Palies so you get less surface area for heat dissipation.

And yes T/Breds do overclock very well, but with good aftermarket cooling (air), premium ram and a highly configurable M/Board 1/5 divider preferably 1/6, I would expect to get at least a 300mhz overclock stabily. IMHO

Yep, default vcc for the palomino is 1.75 volts.I'm running a volcano 8 on her with a side window case fan, one in the rear of the case,pulling air out, and then the power supply fan.Right now she's stable at 125 degrees f.I have her cranked up to 1.86 gig right now.
